Obituary of George Benjamin Fudge
George fudge passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday February 19, 2019. Born December 09, 1949 in Gaultois Newfoundland, he was the son of the late James Fudge and Cassie Fudge (Mac Donald).
George will be sadly missed by his son Troy (Lisa) of Sydney mines Nova Scotia, daughters Jennifer (Andrew) Marsh of Saint John NB and Mary Anne of Victoria BC. George is also survived by his brothers: Henry (Geraldine), James (Norma), Roy (Cathy) and Sam (Betty). .. Sisters: Sarah (Tom) LeBlanc, Marion (Ralph) Hines (Ralph, Marjorie (Jerry) McGrath and Clarice (Marven) McGrath; six Grandchildren and two great grandchildren…and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by two sisters; Julie Elizabeth and Gertie (George) Young.
A talented Carpenter George worked at the dry dock in Saint John for many years… and as a carpenter for the town of St. Martin's. He was most at home with nature and being in the woods…he enjoyed hunting and fishing and growing a vegetable garden. A lover of music he played the guitar and accordion and wrote many beautiful songs. He will be lovingly remembered for his love of life…his big heart and kindness to those in need.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424). To honour Georges request there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm from St. Martin’s Baptist Church, 21 Main Street, St. Martin’s.
