Obituary of Hazel Blanche Nantel

It is with profound sadness that the family of Hazel Blanche Nantel, loving wife to the late Louis Nantel, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on March 9, 1923 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Blanche (McArthur) Garnett.

 

Hazel had a love of music. She enjoyed anything with a beat that you could dance to. She would often watch Figure Skating and enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. Hazel also kept up with the goings on of the Royal Family.  Above all, Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved them unconditionally and she will be dearly missed by them all. 

 

Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ann (Gary) Jeffery, Bill (Maria) Nantel, Louis Nantel Jr. and Yvonne (Gary) Hamilton, her grandchildren: Nicole Nantel (Lawrence Myers), Jaime (David) Ross, Stephen Jeffery, Jonathan (Amy) Nantel, Tammy (Joe) Sousa, Stephen Connelly and Donna Hamilton, several great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. 

 

Besides her parents and husband Louis, Hazel was predeceased by her sisters: Ruby “Tootie” Baker, Verna Parlee and brothers: Lloyd and Harry “Humpsie” Garnett.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, March 28 from 2-4 and 6-8.  A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, March 29 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. 

 

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Cardiac Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital.
