Obituary of Sadie I. Hovey
The death of Sadie I. (Palmer) Hovey, wife of the late Leon Hovey, occurred on June 1, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Carroll's Crossing, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lila (Stewart) Palmer. She was employed in the house-keeping unit of the DVA Hospital and the Saint John General Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the New Brunswick Branch of the War Amputations of Canada. She is survived by her daughters Leona Wisted of Saint John, Marilyn Yurco and her husband Milan of Saint John, Natalie Hovey and her husband Anthony Marsh of Halifax, NS, her sister “Maggie” (Margaret) Gibbons of Fredericton, her grandchildren James, Doug, Rodney, Mark, and Melanie, her great-grandchildren Taylor, Jeremy, Nicholas, Chance, Delaney, Samatha, Bradley and Christina and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Marjorie and several brothers and sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
