Obituary of Erwin Josef Hoy
The death of Mr. Erwin Josef Hoy, of 27 Todd Street, Saint John, husband of Leola (Larocque) Hoy, occurred on Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Mr. Hoy was born in Germany on July 23, 1924, and moved to Canada following the War. He owned and operated Hoy's Garage for many years, in Saint John. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert Hoy (Paulette) of the Kingston Peninsula, Joseph Hoy (Deborah) of Saint John, Stephen Mahler (Elaine) of Rothesay and David Mahler of Saint John, three daughters, Christa Peizer (Henry) of French Village, Lanie Sullivan (Eric) of Rothesay and Claudette Kelter (Jimmy) of Saint John, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Erwin Hoy. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances to the Alzheimer Society of Saint John would be appreciated by the family.
