Obituary of Jean E. Gamble
The death of Jean Elizabeth Gamble, of Summerville, NB, wife of the late William J. Gamble, occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at her residence. Born in Summerville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Kirk) Hughes. Mrs. Gamble worked from her home as the Switchboard Operator for the Kingston Peninsula Telephone Company from 1957-1968. Jean was a member of the Summerville United Church and the U.C.W. of the church. She is survived by four sons, James R. (Shirley) of New Minas, NS, Robert H. (Frances) of Summerville, W. Ronald of Fredericton and D. Gordon (Susan) Summerville, three daughters, V. Pauline Gamble, Joan I. Waters (Fred), both of Summerville and Margaret J. Colwell (Wayne) of Saint John, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Frances Gamble, grand-daughter Jennifer Gamble, brothers, Leslie and William Hughes, sisters, Ethel Barlow and Isobel Pile. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 2:15 PM. Interment in the Summerville United Church Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
