Obituary of Gertrude Blanche Kempster
The death of Mrs. Gertrude Blanche (Cosman) Kempster, of Golden Grove Road, Saint John, wife of the late John Philip Kempster, occurred on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Woodman's Point, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ethelbert and Theora (Goodwin) Cosman. Gertrude was a teacher by profession and had taught school until her marriage to Jack. Later in life, she became an avid duplicate bridge player. She was Anglican by faith. She is survived by one son, Gerald Kempster (Barbara Jean) of Quispamsis; three daughters, Connie Humphrey (Stephen) of Saint John, Anne Langley (Thomas) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Catherine Lamb (Gordon) of Quispamsis; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack; a sister, Elizabeth Logan; and a grandson, Gregory Langley. A private family service will take place. Remembrances may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Saint John Regional Hospital or the Alzheimer's Society.
