Obituary of Nancy Elizabeth Fairweather
Passed away peacefully Nancy Elizabeth (Broughall) Fairweather, age 79, of Rothesay and Long Reach, NB, occurred on Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Toronto, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Madeline Broughall. Besides her devoted husband Gordon she is survived by her cherished children Michael (Mary Jo) of Calgary, Hugh (Susan Archibald) of Mississauga, daughter Wendy (Rick) Birch of Sidney, BC, seven grandchildren Christine, Amanda, Ryan, Benjamin, Nathan, Sam and Hanna, two great-grandsons Alexander and Nicholas, sister Patricia (Bernard) Pearson of Mississauga, brother James (Barbara) Broughall of Ottawa. Nancy served in the W.R.C.N.S. in WWII, became a Registered Laboratory Technician in New Brunswick and earned a Diploma in Early Childhood Education while living in Ottawa. She was a volunteer for several organizations including the Canadian Girl Guides, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Meals on Wheels and the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket. She loved her summer home in Long Reach and after her marriage, quickly became a converted Maritimer. A service of thanksgiving for her life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay, at 11:00 am. A private family interment will be held in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Long Reach at a later date. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to the UNICEF or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay, would be gratefully appreciated by her family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB. (506-634-7424).
