Obituary of Anne M. Vautour
Peacefully at home, Mrs. Anne M. "Noonie" (Gallant) Vautour, devoted wife for 52 years to Wifred Vautour passed away while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Summerside, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Pauline (Robichaud) Gallant. Noonie grew up in PEI and started her long career with the Chan family on the island retiring in Saint John, NB after marrying and raising her family here. She worked in the many Chan Family restaurants for nearly 25 years. Known affectionately as the Bingo Queen, Noonie found pleasures with the simple things in life such as long drives in the country, knitting socks for family and friends and garage sales but her selfless nature is what she will be best remembered for. A member of Stella Maris Parish, Noonie was also an active Simonds Lioness. Besides her husband Wilfred, Noonie is also survived by her sons: Lionel (Jane), Kevin (Kathy), Darrell (Sandra) and Brian (Jeannette) all of Saint John, NB, her only daughter; Paula (Mrs. Steven Baker), Clearwater, FL., two brothers: Luke (Jean) and Francis (Debbie) both of Saint John, NB, two sisters: Jean Szezendor, Saint John, NB and Rita (Mrs. Daryl Gibbons), Midland, Ont., ten grandchildren: Jason, Brook, Beau, Erin, Trina, Lyndsay, Kevin, Ashley, Bradley, Jeffrey, six great-grandchildren: Dominic, Kirsten, Kelsey, Jonathan, Morgan and Holden as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends. Besides her parents, Noonie is also predeceased by one brother, Abel Gallant, and one son, Wilfred Vautour. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visitation on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery will follow. www.brenansfh.com
