Obituary of Henry M. MacGowan
The death of Mr. Henry M. MacGowan, of Centennial House, Hampton, NB, husband of the late Helen (Warnock) MacGowan, occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on June 14, 1912, he was the son of the late Samuel James and Isabella (Malcolm) McGowan. Mr. MacGowan was the Accountant Controller at E.S. Stephenson Co. Ltd., for many years, before his retirement. He was a professional soloist and sang with many groups in Saint John. He is survived by one son, John Malcolm MacGowan (Margaret) of Regina, one daughter, Isabel Louise Godsoe (Clifford) of the Kingston Peninsula, one brother, S. Douglas MacGowan of St. Catharines, ON, 7 grandchildren, Clifford Godsoe Jr. (Crystal Blanchard), Jim MacGowan, Heather Godsoe, Shelley Vanderlaan (Paul), Kelly MacGowan, Julie Channing (Kyle) and Susan MacGowan, grand-daughter-in-law, Trina Godsoe, 5 great-grandchildren, Elijah and Silas Godsoe and Eden, Mitchell and Alex Vanderlaan, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Alan MacGowan, James MacGowan and Malcolm McGowan and sisters, Helen Robb and Phyllis Smith. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday 7-9 PM and Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at St. John Baptist (Mission Church) St. Clement, 815 Millidge Avenue, Saint John, on Monday, February 17, 2003, at 1:00 PM. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery in the spring. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com
