Obituary of Marjorie Theresa Martin

The death of Mrs. Marjorie Theresa Martin of 8 Carl Court, Saint John, wife of Eldon J. "Al" Martin, occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Griffin) Bourque. Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Simonds High School and Mt. Carmel Academy. She lived and worked in Montreal for a number of years, before moving back to Saint John, where she worked as an Investment Advisor at Montreal Trust, until her retirement. Marjorie was a member of the CWL at Stella Maris Church, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her husband, Al, at their summer cottage, on the Washademoak. Besides her husband she is survived by her husband's children, Wade E. Martin (Brenda) of Massachusetts, Brenda Bellmonte (Richard) of Grafton, NH, Angela Watson (Christopher) of Medford, Mass and Deborah Martin, four brothers, Kenneth J. Bourque (Carmella) of Mississauga, ON, J. David Bourque (Shirley) of Rothesay, Michael G. Bourque (Sue) of Victoria, BC and Paul A. Bourque (Lucille) of Quispamsis, three sisters, Jeannette Grant (George) of Saint John, Christine Longley of Massachusetts and Patricia Little (Ashley) of Grand Bay-Westfield, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter Lennon of Montreal. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church, on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring.
