Obituary of John Douglas Howe
The death of John Douglas (Jack) Howe, husband of Helen M. Fanjoy Howe, occurred on February 21, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Horace R. and Jennie T. (Rodday) Howe. He served with the Canadian Forces during the Korean War. He was employed with Canada Post and retired from the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was a member of Korean Veteran's Association, Saint John, having served as Past President and Past Treasurer, and the Royal Canadian Legion Jervis Bay Branch #53. He was also a member of Knights of Pythias, Lodge # 1, and the Knights of Korasan. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Kenneth of Kingston, ON, his daughters Jennifer and Melody of Moncton, NB, his step-son and six step-daughters, his brother Charles Howe of Saint John, his sister Betty McHugh of Saint John, seven grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Bobby and his sister Eileen. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at 2:15 PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, Field of Honor. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
