Obituary of Gertrude Margaret Gunn
The death of Mrs. Gertrude Margaret (Anderson) Gunn, of Rocmaura Nursing Home, formerly of Davenport Avenue, Saint John, wife of the late J. Howard Gunn, occurred on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at her residence. Born in Barti-Bogue Bridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Delaney) Anderson. Gertrude had been employed with Calp's Department Store as a switchboard operator, from where she retired following several years of service. She is survived by her only son, David Gunn and his wife Sylvia of Saint John, one grandson, David of Saint John, sisters, Nora Mahoney of Barti-Bogue, NB, and brothers, Ilo Bonn of Jedore, NS, and Douglas Anderson of Newcastle, NB, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Howard, brothers Moffat Anderson, Albert Jr. Anderson, Ernest Anderson, Elmer Anderson, and Weldon Anderson, and sister, Myrtle Bonn. The Gunn Family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to the Nurses and Staff of the Alzheimer's Unit (Trinity Court) of Rocmaura Nursing Home for their excellent care and attention to Gertrude, your compassion will not be forgotten. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2003 at 10:00 AM from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
