Obituary of Jean Agnes White

The death of Jean Agnes White, aged 95, wife of the late Robert Gerald White, occurred on October 31, 2003, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Turner) Giggey. Jean graduated from the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1930. She had a long career, practicing her profession until the age of 72. As a nurse, she delivered three babies, one on the Millidgeville ferry, one in a houseboat on the Kennebecasis River and one, a niece, in her Millidgeville home. She is survived by her sister, Frances Buckle, brother Bill Giggey (Connie), daughter Barbara Lariviere (Peter), son John (Peggy), 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Barry, sister Marjorie Leggett and Lois Devlin and her brother Robert Giggey. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), where the family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30 PM on Monday, November 3, 2003 until 3:30 PM, at which time the funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
