Obituary of John Arthur Barnett

The death of Mr. John Arthur Barnett, of Saint John, husband of the late Ella C. (Williams) Barnett, occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late Alice Barnett. Mr. Barnett was a Shipper Receiver for various companies in Saint John, including Shaw's and Irving Oil Ltd. He was a member of the City Market Senior Citizens Club and Waterloo Street Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, John Jr. (Debbie) of Quispamsis and Gerald of Saint John, one daughter, Kimberly Barnett of Saint John, 3 half-brothers, Herbert, Sanford and Roy Bunn, three half-sisters, Callie Drane, Ruth Blacklock and Phyllis Ackey, three grandchildren, Cari, Matt and Rob, one great grandson, Noah, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna Barnett and two half-brothers, Gordon and Gene Bunn. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
