Obituary of Phillon Ralph Baird

The death of Phil Baird occurred peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Saint John on June 27, 1946, he was a son of the late Guy and Helen (Flanagan) Baird. Prior to his retirement, Phil was employed with NB Housing and in his younger years he served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed woodworking. Phil is survived by his children, Candace Baird (Stephen), Dayman Baird (Katie) and Derek Baird (Sara) all of Saint John and Warren Joe of Alberta; sisters, Gail Dacey and Linda Parker (Terry) all of Saint John; grandchildren, Austin, Aidan, Dallas and Angelina; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Phil was also predeceased by his sister, Ann Gallop. As per the family’s request, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Romero House.
