Obituary of Marty Martin
It is with great sadness that the family of Marty Martin of Saint John announce his passing, which occurred on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home. Born on October 10, 1966 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Alvé Martin and Sally Reed.
Marty had a long working career with Day & Ross, a job he truly loved and where many friendships were made. He enjoyed fishing, ATVing, flower gardening and baking. Marty will always be lovingly remembered.
Marty is survived by his loving fiancée, Alice Dunlap of Saint John; children, Matt Aburrow of Saint John, Geoff Martin (Alysha) of Calgary, Mitch Savoie of Saint John, Jake Savoie (Vanessa) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Tristan Gallant of Saint John, Jesse and Trever Allen (Emma) all of Harvey and Nicole Dunlap-Craig of Saint John; siblings, Norman Martin (Ardith) of Waterborough, Dave Martin (Jeanne) of Saint John, Louise Hanlon (Don) of Burton and Danny Martin and Ron Martin both of Saint John; step-siblings, Cindy MacFarland (Fred) of Clifton Royal, Mark Reed (Edna) and Jon Andrew Reed all of Saint John; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Natalie, Noah, Cameron, Ashton, Kaylee and Autumn; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, John Reed and niece, Jennifer Logan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM. A private interment will take place at a later date in Fernhill Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
