Dear Charlene,
I have great memories of you and Jack. I first remember Jack when he and Jimmy Blinn had dinner at our parsonage in Meductic when they were attending NBBI. My father was very concerned that they understood the Wesleyan teaching of sanctification and not get theologically mixed up--particularly about the belief in eternal security!!
I remember you first when there was a Youth Rally at Presque Isle and I stayed with you and your family. I was so impressed that you could play the piano so well, and I liked a grey all-weather coat that you wore. Your parents were such dear people!. You have suffered great heartache, illness and loss, but you have kept the faith. I have loved and admired you forever!
I hope to see you at Beulah! Love, Ethel Young-Forbes

In February of 1979 I experienced the death of a family member who meant a great deal to our entire family. As we stood greeting people, a gentleman came into the room and spoke with each of us. He offered prayer for our comfort and quietly left. I found out he was the pastor of my aunt and uncle's church.
He and his wife returned at supper time to check on us and as our family prepared to leave that evening, he stopped in and prayed for our safety on the winter roads driving back to Fredericton. When I went into the hall, in the second parlour the sign said that Elaine MacKenzie was in the room. The Rev, and the Mrs, were fulfilling their calling of comforting people when they were grieving the death of their own daughter. I cannot explain how that comforted my heart through their example.
That was only the beginning of the their love and support offered to me as well as many others during the years since. Jack MacKenzie was a good and Godly man, a vibrant preacher and a leader by example. I like to think that when he entered Heaven there was one of those kicks that were so much a part of his preaching when he was truly moved by the Spirit and a resounding shout of "GLORY"! He has fought the good fight and now has the crown of righteousness. Rest well. Another soldier is safely home To the Mrs. and the family, we are praying that through your loss you will be comforted with the knowledge of the prayers of your friends and the truth of the Word he faithfully preached.

I have so many..many memories. Tons of moments when I watched this very good man live his truth. God is. The one I cherish is when I was a very active teen...I came to the MacKenzie home. Youth group was held at their home ...I was young..new and tough..resistant to anything anyone had to say about anything!! On one particular visit ..I came literally busting in and there was Pastor Jack ..in the living room and he was caring for Elaine. I ... literally ...had never seen a father care for his daughter in such a compassionate ,loving way. I knew then that the God this man spoke about must have been real ... Pastor Jack's love was so very unconditional ..real and steadfast. I decided that day to try and find this God he spoke about..well..the Mrs. Made sure that I found Him. Between the two of them they tagged team for God...and my life changed. So many memories..Pastor Jack climbing ladders..sanding ceilings... hammering..building...believing in people no matter what we did or said to him..he just kept believing in them. In me. One time I was taken into the ER ...Pastor Jack was there trying to help me..I was a mess. And I cursed him out....he looked at me and I saw that care in him..grow bigger!! Imagine! My heart is sadden ...a bit..cause the world has lost a very good man.. and Heaven has gained! Now I say a bit... cause I know Pastor Jack... he has already run into the arms of his God...hugged his kids and has joined the choir...climbing ladders. ... doing and being and just a jumpin' !
