Obituary of Mark Allan Baker
It is with immense sadness that the family of Mark Allan Baker announce his untimely passing on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born November 22, 1959 in Perth-Andover, NB, he was the son of the late Basil and Rita (Morrissey) Baker.
Mark attended college at NBCC in Moncton, graduating in 1978 having studied to be an electronics technician. Mark was loyal to his career, dedicating 38 years to the railroad. Mark loved his family fiercely, always lending a hand where he could, and would be the first to acknowledge the accomplishments of his two sons.
Mark had a true sense of adventure- whether it was mountain biking or traveling with his wife- he lived each day to the fullest.
Mark was an avid innovator- both with home improvements and with his skills in cooking- he was remarkable at working with his hands.
Mark inspired all those around him to truly live every day with no regrets. His social and inviting personality allowed him to make friends wherever he went.
Mark’s final act of being an organ donor speaks to how he would do anything for others, whether he knew them or not. He would be proud to know that in his final days, he was able to positively impact the lives of so many others. Mark will truly be missed.
Mark is survived by his wife, Gisѐle Pelletier-Baker; sons, Justin (Yu Wang) and Nick (Kelsey Reid); sisters: Charlotte Bellefleur (Roger), Velma Baker (Kevin Neary), and Paula Baker (Andy Levesque); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
