Celebration of Life
Obituary of Alfred David Page
It is with profound sadness the family of Alfred David Page announce his passing on November 14, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice with his loving wife, of nearly thirty years, Leanne (nee Buckingham), by his side. Born in Amherst, NS on April 14, 1944, he was a son of the late Ronald and Irma (Mawhinney) Page.
Dave lived a very simple but fulfilling life accomplishing his three childhood dreams of owning his own business, building his dream home overlooking the water in Chance Harbour on the family property and making many family memories. He was known to be very kind and generous within the community. He was loved, admired and respected by all who knew him which was evident in the support he received during his brief illness. He will be missed by all.
Besides his wife, Leanne, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Andrea (Mike) and Krista (Dave); granddaughters: Kayla, Megan, Jordan and Rachel and grandson, Michael. He will be greatly missed by sisters, Diane Arnold (Doug) and Janet North (Hart); brother, Don (Nancy McLeod). He will be lovingly remembered by blended family Scott, Tanya (Murray) and Khryspn (Kevin); grandchildren: Andrew (Rachel), Kaitlynn (Brandon), Amanda (Remi), Brandyn and Dustyn (Vanessa); great grandchildren: Brayden, Braylin, Damien, Brianna and Liam; as well as nieces, nephews and many cousins. In addition to Dave’s parents he was predeceased by sister-in-law, Marilyn.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Steven Hall who prepared us for this journey, Dr. T. Daigle-Maloney, Extra Mural (Virginia) and Tracey of Integrity Home Care who gave us the support to stay at home. Also, to the staff of the SJRH 3BN Palliative Care Team and especially Bobby’s Hospice for all the kindness and support given to Dave and his family and friends.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and although there will be no visitation or funeral service there will be a Celebration of Dave’s Life on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home Reception Centre. True to the Page way please join family and friends for a time of refreshments and storytelling as Dave would want it relaxed and humorous. A private family interment will take place in Woodstock, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be placed to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. www.BrenansFH.com.
