My sincerest condolences to the Newdick family. Bob gave me my first "real job" as a 15 year old at McDonald's in Timmins.
He was my first boss, and left a lasting impression on me. I was a 19 year old Swing Manager at the time he sold his Timmins restaurant and moved to New Brunswick, and I was strongly debating moving to New Brunswick along with Tim Carter, Bob's "right hand man" at the time. I chose to go back to school instead. But I do think many times about how things would have been different had I gone to New Brunswick and continued on with McDonald's.
I was reminiscing about my first job and thinking about Bob and Sharon, when I googled his name and sadly found this announcement.
Although late, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am just seeing this on a search for Bob. I knew Bob and Sharon many years ago, before they were married. We use to go up to Sharon's stepfather's cottage at Lake Simcoe. I met Bob through Sharon and he was a lovely man. Sadly we lost touch. My condolences to Sharon and Bob's family. Sharon (Moriarty) Barchuk.

I have never forgotten Bob from our happy high school times in Toronto. School dances, football games, Fran's and riding to the car wash when he worked at Parkwood Cadillac.
A comfort to know he had rich and fulfilling life..
I never hear Frank Sinatra without Bob coming to mind.

It was with great sadness that we learned of Bob's passing. During my five years on the "Hill", Bob gave us help, respect, and friendship, along with sharing his humor. So.. our thoughts and prayers now go out to Sharon and all the rest of the family. Much as we would like to attend the Celebration of Bob's Life on January 6th., we cannot since we are presently in Portugal. We will, however, be thinking of him with fondness.

I worked with Bob for many years in the investment industry in Toronto. There was never a finer nor honest man that I ever knew. I will cherish the memories and good times we shared forever.
