Obituary of Mary Joan Lynn
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Mary Joan Lynn announces her passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 3, 2020 at the age of 63.
Mary was born on June 25, 1956 in Barrie, Ontario. Growing up, Mary was active in many sports and loved to spend time with her family. Mary graduated nursing school at 19 and working across Canada, touched many lives over her 40 year career. Mary moved to Saint John in 1990 to settle down with her family and was always the life of the party, full of joy and laughed like no other. At the same time, she could be the most stubborn person you could meet if she believed in something.
Mary was full of love; she used that love to spoil her children, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, especially with her incredible gift of knitting - many pieces of which will be passed on to future generations. She was an incredible mother/grandmother and we have been blessed to have her in our lives. She will forever be missed but never truly gone, as she lives within our hearts.
Mary was predeceased by her father James Henry Lynn, mother Joan Mayo Lynn (Milne) and grandson Finn Peter Bardsley. Survived by son’s Nicholas Bardsley (Jen), John Bardsley, granddaughter Rose Bardsley, grandson Thomas Bardsley, brothers Ted Lynn and Doug Lynn and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to give a special thanks to ward 3CN, the Extramural team, the Oncology department and Dr. Grey, Dr. Acker and Dr. Gillis for the exceptional care they provided to her.
Although there will be no public funeral service, relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one's choice.
