Obituary of Kirk Harold Melvin Mayes

It is with broken hearts that the family of Kirk Mayes announces his death on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.  Kirk was born and lived in Saint John. He was the much loved, only son of the late Barbara B. Mayes.

Kirk was a mechanic by trade; he had a love for Chevrolets and racing, especially his Camaros.  He spent his summers at his favourite place,  the camp in Cambridge Narrows.  Kirk was well known for his quick wit, great smile, his compassionate spirit and his love for his country.

Kirk will be forever, lovingly remembered by his daughter Shannon (Cashton), sisters: Jane (Kevin) and Karen (Barry), nieces; Shaylee and Heidi-Jane, nephews: Jordan, Ron, Kurt and Stephen.

Kirk’s family would like to thank his friends and especially Cheryl and Ivan, for the kindness they showed to him. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).  A Celebration of Kirk’s Life will be held at O’Malleys Irish Pub on Saturday, March 21, from 1-4 PM.
