Lorne and I traveled many miles and had some great adventures in support of Air Cadets. It is because of his insistence that I became a member of the Air Cadet League following my discharge from the Military and where I continue to serve today.
May Lorne dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings, put out his hand and touch the face of God. "High Flight"

Sam & Family,
Our Deepest Condolences go out to You and your Family during this difficult time. It is so hard to believe. He was a great Friend and Boss and we were lucky to have him for both. Dad and I were so lucky to work with him at Shopper's Drug Mart and then I work again with him at Meditrust Pharmacy. He always would have your back no matter what the consequences were. He took great pride in the Royal Canadian Air Force Primary Reserve and Air Cadets as he looked up to them with great honour. He loved his Wife Sam, Son Josh and Daughter Susan and the Grand Children very much as they were his world. He will be missed dearly cheers to you Captain.
Love Mary-Jo Mallette & Joe Mallette Senior

My sincerest condolences to Ila and your entire family. I first met Lorne as a cadet with 161 Sqn. In the 60’s and to say he was a strong influence in my life would be an understatement. He was always firm but fair and brought out the best in everyone. His encouragement led me to follow his example and to become an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and later assume command of our Squadron. I can’t imagine the number of cadets whose lives have been similarly transformed by their contact with Lorne but I am positive the world is a better place today due to his kindness and generous gift of time and attention to the development of the youth of this Country. You will be sorely missed! R.I.P. my friend.

So sorry for your loss, thinking of you all at this most difficult time .
We have great memories of our time at the Cottage.Uncle Lorne always had wood for us , or would take us in the car scouring the roadside so we could have firewood.
Campfires ,marshmallows , swimming ,and games in the yard and family. His biggest challenge was trying to keep our names straight .lol . He would go through the list . I cannot forget the toilet troubles every year as well ,lol . Good job we were close to the woods . Treasured memories for sure.
Thinking of you all
