Obituary of Peter Angus Jones
After a lengthy illness, Peter Jones of Saint John passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 3, 1932 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Simeon and Eleanor (Angus) Jones.
Peter had a long-time working career as an accountant and was the owner of Jones and Associates. This was a career he truly enjoyed and where many friendships and connections were made. Peter always took great comfort in being outdoors. He loved to dance, skate and many will remember him for starting the Harbour Station skating club.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his children, Brian (Betty-Anne), Thane (Karen), Craig (Tammy) and Mark; sister, Wendy Sullivan (Bob); sister-in-law, Evelyn Jones; grandchildren, Michael (Alison), Ben, Isaac (Paige), Matthew, Samuel, William, Nathan (Martina), Andrew (Breanne), Rebecca (Jonathon), Abagail (Jeremy) and MacKenzie; several great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Gwenlyn Jones; step-children, Paula Gautreau (David), Darlene Murphy, Beverly Perry (Robert), Krista Walton (Graham) and Paul LeBlanc (Lorrie); as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Lottie (Perry) Jones; brother, David; granddaughter, Hannah Jones and step-mother, Margie Jones.
Peter’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all his health care providers. The exceptional care and kindness shown towards Peter will always be remembered.
A private graveside service and celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
