Beth,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom.
My comfort, when my mother died, was telling myself that "Mom wouldn't want me to be unhappy."
If a coffee and a shoulder would help in this upcoming time, please let me know, and I'll be there.

Peter & family, my most sincere condolences for the loss of your mom. She was a pillar in our community and I still think there's LaRocque's place every time I go by the corner of Orange & Crown Sts. Please know that I hold you in my thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.

To the LaRocque Family,
We were saddened to learn of your mother’s passing and extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences for your loss.
We had many chats with your Mom over the years, especially after Sunday Mass at the Cathedral. She was a kind and lovely lady. She knew that Bernie had attended school with Gordon, so there was that connection which she also enjoyed. Our caring thoughts and prayers are with you all as you reflect of her life and many contributions.
Most sincerely.

Pat, Beth,Joanne, Gordie, Peter and Paul,
I met your lovely family when Pat and I became friends in Grade 12 when Pat came to St. Vincent's from St. Stephen. I have many fond memories of being in your home on Orange St. especially my warm welcome by your Mom. Continued to visit with her while she lived at the Beatty and later in the Loch Lomond Villa. She was ever alert and and enjoyed conversation. She is leaving a great family legacy which extends to other countries and even continents. Rest in Peace Betty. Hugs and Prayers through these difficult times. Lois Anne

I am a volunteer at The Village and would take Betty to the church services on those very rare days that her daughter could not be there. I can honestly say that Betty always had a smile and thanked me so warmly. She seemed to be wrapped in a glow of contentment and peace. I will miss her.

Peter and Beth.....our thoughts are with you and your families. I was saddened to read that your Mom had passed away. I was just thinking about her when I read her obituary. I always enjoyed seeing her in the dining room when we were up visiting Bill Boyce at the Village. You both were so good to your Mom. Cherish her memories. I am Betty's 2nd child and 2nd daughter. Mom had a great life with Dad and was so sad to see him depart so young.
We had seen the Phantom of the Opera in London, England in Dec. 1991 where I was recuperating . We came came back to SJ in a blizzard and his heart gave out a few weeks later.
In 2008 Mom heard the song of A.L. Webber "The Heart is Slow to Learn" from a children's concert in Beijing . When they sang, "I'll never love as I have loved you; say what you will, it doesn't matter; until I die there's only you; until I die there's only you", Mom said, "That is so true".
And it is. Mom loved us all to the end, as Jesus loved his own. Now she is with her Beloved in the heart of God.

The lilacs that the grandkids and I cut yesterday, sit in a vase next to me as I read your email and the obits. (interesting). It's a sad but happy time.
I am so sorry for your loss as it marks the end of a generation. I'm happy at the same time to have known your Mother - her kind hospitality and warmth. Sharing my boring Christmas card/note with her each year was a priority of mine. Getting a reply from her was pretty neat.
She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Hugs.

I moved into the Beatty in 1994 and was delighted to meet Betty. She joined in all the activies, bought 50/50 tickets and helped out wherever she could. She was a brave soul and a very sweet member of our group. We have missed her since she went to the Villa... gone but not forgotten. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. Janette Lachance

I remember well the many visits Betty and Gord made to their daughter, Pat's on Riverbank Drive in Bathurst. It was a lively household with five young girls growing up. Our two daughters were in and out of their house often. We shall all miss this gracious, kind lady. Sincere condolences. Ann and Bruce Rendell
