Obituary of Margaret Ann Harrington
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Ann Harrington, beloved wife of 59 years to Raymond J. Harrington, announce her passing on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her residence in Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born October 8, 1936 in Newcastle, NB, she was a daughter of the late Allen James and Laura Ann (Muzerolle) MacKenzie.
Marg spent her working years with Simms Brush Factory. She volunteered for many years with the Special Olympics and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed cross-stitching and making many crafts, which will always be treasured by her family. Before her failing health, Marg looked forward to going to garage sales every Saturday with her two sisters, Donna and Sandra. She had a fondness for animals, especially her cat Molly.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, Margaret is survived by her children: Hubert Harrington (Marylou DelVasto), Sandra Harrington, and Tracie Harrington; sisters, Sandra Wetmore and Donna Short; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth MacKenzie and Doreen MacKenzie; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Walsh and Constance Firlotte; and brothers, Robert MacKenzie and Hubert MacKenzie.
The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Court for their care and friendship of Margaret. Your kindness is appreciated and will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). In keeping with Marg’s wishes, a private family graveside service will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Rocmaura Foundation or the Saint John SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
