I am so sad to hear of the passing of my dear friend Jon. So many of my memories include him. We met in the early days of the casino in Halifax and became fast friends. We put a band together with Kevin Ryan called Three of a Kind and kept making music in various forms for decades. Jon joined Darlene and me on the Crystal Serenity and we traveled the world together. I have lost a Brother and will never forget him.

Condolences to Jon's family. I met Jon in grade 6 at Prince Charles School and we went to High school together. He was such a talented, up beat personality. Although I have not been in touch since high school, I still considered Jon a friend. May he rest in peace

To all the family,
I am so deeply Sorry for your loss and sending loads of love, and praying for your strength during this very sad time.
I miss Jon already. He was a dear friend since moving back to SJ and we quickly realized we had so many common friends and a love for music ( He with the talent and me with "not so much" talent - hence he named my singing -- "voice of an angel" lol .
He was a fun loving, good-hearted soul that was generous and giving of his time to others - whether it be to entertain, console or just keep you company as you muddle through the ups and downs of life. Never asking for anything in return and always giving a smile or telling a story or two to help you smile.
I hope your lyrics and songs find their way to someone who truly appreciates them (or needs them). I feel blessed you have shared these with me. You poured your heart and soul into your music and songwriting. Time meant nothing when writing that perfect song with many giving tribute to those you loved so deeply and others being a reflection of your own journey. A colorful tapestry of events created by an artist who, just like us, longed for peace, happiness and love - but unlike most, was driven to perform.
The paper, pen and guitars were the tools that helped your voice and talent be heard. But your soul and love for people is, what I believe, helped you reach more hearts than you can know.
The angels will be dancing Jon,
Break a leg
Elaine

My Deepest Sympathy to all of Jon's family and friends. Just the other day I was remembering summers up in Bloomfield when all of you were up visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wasson and we all got to play together. Us kids were thrilled to have other kids to play with. The last time I saw Jonny was back in 1978. It was September and the Loyalist Days activities were going on. We hung out and watched a couple of bands. How quickly time goes by from kids to all grown up. I thought, such a nice guy who turned out well. We had some good talks and got caught-up on the family news and his dreams of singing in a band. Sad to hear this news of his passing. My thoughts and prayer for you all. <3

I worked with Jon at Casino Halifax and played in the band Three of a Kind with Jon and our other friend Mark Hubley. We had many adventures back in those days and when he would visit me in PEI after I left the casino. So sad for the loss of this wonderful man. Here is a clip from when we played on Breakfat Television many years ago. Rest in peace, my friend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ16SE2Pzzg
