Obituary of Vital Brideau
It is with heavy hearts and shock that the family of Joseph Vital Brideau announce his passing, which occurred on Tuesdsay January 12, 2021, at Shannex Tucker Hall. Born in Pont-La-France NB on October 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Martin and Marianne (Richardson) Brideau.
Vital is survived by one son Edward (Barb) and one daughter Maryanne, his ex-wife Dianne Gavin, two granddaughters, Shania and Jenessa, along with five sisters; Helene (Jim Breau deceased), Alvina (Mel Dugas deceased), Melinda (Arthur Hachey deceased), Edith (Mike Feggos), and Delia (Medley Savoie), and one brother Dosithe (Judy), and many neices and nephews. Aside from his parents, Vital is pre-deceased by his sister Edna.
Vital was often referred to as a gentleman and had a very kind heart and gentle spirit. He was often found smiling and always eager to stop and spark a conversation with anyone. Although he was a very social person and enjoyed conversation, he was a man on the move. Vital loved going for walks and would not think twice to walk long distances to ensure he was staying active and following doctors orders. He always looked forward going to his hometown, Tabusintac to spend time outdoors fishing with his nephews. He enjoyed spending time with family at reunions and especially loved going to the "Saturday dances" with his sisters. Vital had a strong faith in God and was dedicated to attending weekly church service. Even when living at Shannex it was not uncommon for Vital to put on his dressy clothes and attend church service.
Vital's family would like to thank the staff at Tucker Hall for all the care and love they showed him. We feel the staff went over and above keeping the family well informed about his health and also keeping us in the loop when he was diagnosed with the Covid 19 virus. We would like the staff to know that Vital spoke very highly of you all and absolietly loved his time at Tucker Hall.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). Due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Vital's memory may be made to the local food banks of Saint John.
