Rest in Peace Grampy, you were always quiet and content to watch the world go around, take in the scenery and came up with great one liners! I will miss you dearly, my favorite memory of us was many years ago, I was maybe 10 you came up and asked me if I wanted to give him a hand with something important! I said yes of course, I was happy and proud to help Grampy with something important! He said ok then let's go, he told me you take these 2 blue jugs and I'll take these 2 and we loaded them in his old brown Ford Explorer and off we went! It was a perfect sunny day we had the windows down and a warm breeze flowing in, the drive felt like forever but it wasn't a boring drive Grampy always had stories and jokes but most of all he was just happy to go for a drive with his grandson & took his time! We finally came to a stop and he said ok we're here, I remember looking around and I was confused, "where is here Grampy?, there's nothing here!" He said you have to look around pointing to his eye then out into the distance. Its a secret place so you can't tell anyone ok?!! I said I promise! And we got out went to the back and grabbed our jugs and walked only a little ways and said ok we are going to fill our jugs here and I couldn't believe what he was saying!! Being 10 and thinking why in the world did we drive all this way to fill up jugs when we can just turn on the tap!!? That water was the best water I ever tasted, not sure if it was because it was an important job I got to help Grampy with or the journey that day that made this memory now or a bit of both!! I think Grampy found the elixir of life at that spring now when I think about it! He had a way of making everything fun, positive and happy a memory I'll keep forever!

Sending my sincere condonlences to all the Landry family. Lifting you all up in prayers with much peace & comfort.
Marcel was truly a legend & left behind a great legacy of family, faith & zeal for life!
He truly inspired & amazed me of his strength, vitality & perseverance at 101. And he had a great sence of humor.
He took such pride to be dressed to his satisfaction. Still cooked his own eggs & toast. And loved our talks & walks. He would blame the hydro poles for the distance we would walk. He was always up for a good crib game. And had no problem to win them. Even last summer wanted his exercise bike on the main floor so he could stay active.
He also cherished the simple times like sitting out on a nice day. And would also share of his faith of when times got tough. Or like when he'd had a bad dream at night & would wake up & " talk with the Man above. " He had such a reverence for God and always had to make sure he had his tithe for church. And wouldnt eat till we said grace.
He loved to go for drives & shared of his many great memories with his family and even down to the smallest.
I was so very honored to be his caregiver for over a year,. Always encouraged & remind him how blessed he truly was with his family, faith & longevity.
I reminded him continually to call on Jesus, as He is the way, the truth, and the life and no man goes to the Father except through Him. ( then he'd say, " I'll call on you" .)
As he knew his time was drawing near. He told me he'd come down & have a crib game one last time. He knew I'd miss him.
God bless his beautful spirit, may he rest in peace!

I will never forget the day of Dennis' and Sue's Wedding. Marcel wanted so much to help out in some way with the preparations etc and there wasn't alot we could find for him to do. I had an appt. to get my hair done and we asked him to drive me there and back. He jumped right up and was so happy to do this for me. He waited patiently in the car and the appt took a long time. I was Sue's Maid of Honor so it had to be a stunning "do" of course and it took a long time lol. God love him, he didn't say much but I know in some little way he felt like he was part of the wedding preparations now. He's been family to all of us, our two familys have been so involved together over many years. He certainly loved coming to Mom & Dad's house for their card parties. Such a sweet, kind, and gentle soul. I know all of you will miss him dearly. He lived a good long life and may he rest in peace now.
Thinking of all of you.
Love Tracy
