Dad was most proud to be called “Papa”
He Truly was The Man.. The Myth.. The Legend..
At Home, on March 5, 2021 in his 89th year, Dad took his most peaceful sleep. He was grateful that all of his years he remained happy, healthy, and strong.
Born on November 12, 1932 as the first generation of our Canadian “TROTT” line to British Home Child Charles Henry Trott and Mary Agnes Nugent (Adopted Watson/Kyle).
Survived by his wife Marilyn Trott
His Children: Crystal Scott, Laurel Trott, Alison (Jim Brown) Trott, Tracey (Ivan Williston) Trott, Bonnie (Cory) Cox and John Meade Trott
Grandchildren: Sondra, Terrin, Cassie, Deason, Sammy, Alyssa, Nick, and Jonah
Bonus Grandchildren: Jason, Samantha, and Kristen
Great Grandchildren: Jersey and Jamie
Bonus Great Grandchildren: Ivy and Violet
Sisters: Harriet, Barbara, Shirley, and Mary
Many nieces and nephews
Predeceased by one Son, Kevin Donald Carmichael; Brothers: John, Fred, Junior; Sisters: Dorothy, Ruthie, Joanie, Audrey, Margie
Dad knew his way around a car like no one else and was a mechanic most of his life, although he was a true jack of all trades at fixing anything. If he can’t fix it, it just could not be fixed.
He loved to tell stories about his days in the Taxi business, buying and selling vehicles, driving a mail truck before he had a driver’s license and spoke most often of his time with Dicks Telephone Kitchen, which culminated into a 67-year friendship with Bob Wong.
He grew up on Magazine St in the North End of the city, tough as nails.
You would never know it by the tenderness he showed with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dad was exceptional in the kitchen, he could make anything; and rest assured, it was better than yours! If you don’t think so... He would be sure to tell you!
Dad loved looking for bargains at yard sales with Mom, bowling and buying ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING in bulk. He was quick to laugh, joke and tell you a hilarious story.
Mostly, he just loved his family. Family always came first, middle, and last.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021. Due to the current limitations the family will provide the opportunity for those unable to attend, to participate via the comfort of their own homes through livestreaming.
