Obituary of Ricky Whelpley

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ricky Clarence Whelpley announces his passing, which occurred on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of Shirley Wallace and the late Clarence Whelpley.

Ricky worked with Diamond Taxi for 20 years. He will be missed by his loving partner, Darlene Grangello; mother Shirley Wallace; children Ricky, Stephen, Tara, and Shyanne; step-children Adam and Gary Grangello; sisters Brenda Wood (Ross), Wendy Sabean (Bill) Bonny Whelpley (Gary), and Carrie Elizabeth Whelpley.

Ricky is predeceased by his father Clarence Whelpley, as well as his sister Susan Marie Whelpley.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in the Brenan’s Chapel at 2:00 PM. Donations in Ricky’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
