Mass of Christian Burial
Obituary of Allan Savoury
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allan Savoury announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and Papa who was taken way too soon and will be missed by all.
Allan was born on Oct 17, 1958 in Belleoram, NL, the youngest child of the late Cyril and Maggie (Poole) Savoury. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Regina (Lockyer) Savoury; Daughters Stephanie Savoury (Keith Webb) and Melanie Savoury (Jeff Thompson); Grandchildren Stewart, Hannah, Kaylee, Avery, Bailey and Porter and step grandson, Braydon; brother Joe Savoury (Mary); sisters Meta Savoury, Merina Lawrence (Curtis), Emma Morgan (Rick), Carrie Lockyer (Cecil), and Ann Meade.
Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by granddaughter, Ella and brothers, Conrad & Murdock.
Al spent his entire career of 40 years at Clow Canada. When Al was not with his work family he enjoyed golfing, playing guitar, poker and darts. He was a member of Branch 53 Legion. Al was well known for his good natured agitating ways. Anything for a laugh. Al & Regina (Jean) spent over 15 years camping at the Hilltop Campground in Maine. They made numerous friends while there. Al enjoyed many hours playing his guitar with his friend Ron entertaining the campers. When covid required them to move to the Firefly in Hampton they reunited with old camp friends and also made new ones. As much as he enjoyed all of these activities his favourite role was being “Papa”.
Al’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you for all the support from family and numerous friends throughout this past year. There are too many to mention however, it has been greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Due to covid 19 restrictions there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Stella Maris Parish, 201 Bayside Drive, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Attendance will be by invitation only. For those unable to attend the Mass a link to the livestream of the service will be available on Allan’s obituary on Brenan’s website. Interment will take place at a later date and will be a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, Donations in Al’s memory may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital – Palliative Care Unit, the New Brunswick Breast Cancer Network, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
