Obituary of Dawn Helen Arthurs

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dawn Helen (Knodell) Arthurs, beloved wife of D. Joseph “Sonny” Arthurs, announces her passing on April 11, 2021 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on December 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Peter Knodell and Helen McCormick.

Dawn retired from the Saint John Regional Hospital. After retirement, she worked at various retail outlets in Saint John. Dawn enjoyed time with her family, travel, the arts, and her many friends. She will be missed.

Dawn is survived by her beloved husband D. Joseph “Sonny” Arthurs; her children: Richard “Rick” Arthurs (Joanne) of Saint John, NB, Scott Arthurs (Kuilin Cue), of Toronto, ON and Brian Arthurs (Andrea Case) of Saint John, NB; brothers: Robert Knodell (Audrey) of Quispamsis, NB and David Knodell (Betty) of NS; grandchildren: Adam Baird, Amie Arthurs and Ian Arthurs; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Dawn was predeceased by her sister-in-law Joan McDonald (Murray) of Hamilton, ON, and brother-in-law Donald Arthurs (Sharon) of Saint John.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Bobby’s Hospice and Extra Mural for all their care and compassion.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). In keeping with Dawn’s wishes, there will be no services.
