Obituary of Judith “Judy” McCavour

The Lord called Judy McCavour, beloved wife of Nelson McCavour, home on Monday, April 26, 2021 after a period of failing health. Born April 25, 1955 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Laurena “Rena” (Fraser) MacEwen.

Judy was happiest when surrounded by her family on her back deck. She had a small pool for the kids to enjoy and the neighbour dog, Scout, would often be found relaxing on the deck with Judy. She found great joy in reading and listening to music.

Besides her husband, Nelson, Judy is survived by her children: Joel, Jason, and Melissa McCavour-Mortimer (Jeff); step-grandchildren: Danielle, Alex, Alyssa, and Jayden; sisters, Janice MacEwen and Cathy LeBlanc (Paul Weaver); sister-in-law, Darlene MacEwen; brother-in-law, David Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joanne Carroll and brother, William MacEwen.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Guests are asked to enter the building through the courtyard entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with COVID-19 protocol.  Please be mindful of social distancing while you wait to pay your respects to the family.
