I worked with Ed for a few years and later he became a customer. His keen sense of urgency was infectious and I will remember him fondly. My thoughts are with his family and I know he will live on in the good memories held by all. Stew Valcour

Dearest Aunt Barb, Ed, Deb, Bruce, John and family, Evan, Corinne, Herk and I were so saddened to hear of “Uncle Bapou’s” passing. Uncle Edward and I always seem to have endless things to talk about and we loved our family history (I have a full copy of what he’d written about his recollection of the Mackie’s here in Perth). We used to joke that maybe I was actually his daughter because Father (Leslie) wasn’t as interested in the family tree as we were... I have so many memories and dreams of being with all of you growing up and every year our crazy Mackie family Christmas drinks were always such fun, a few glasses of CC on the rocks or with water and uncle Edward, uncle George and my dad were off and running .. sounded like arguing to me as a kid but they’d always say “we’re just talking!” It was great preparation for my experience in my Greek family down under.. I actually made the decision to come down here whilst floating in the pool at Uncle Edward and Aunt barbs house at the park! Evan summed up every experience we had upon seeing Barb and Edward when we came home every year “always a big hug, smile, cracked several jokes -your uncle.. such an intelligent, outgoing, happy man” Aunt Barb and uncle Edward you were the quintessential couple... you were always loving, welcoming, helpful whenever you could and we are so going to miss that laugh and hugs. You are at peace now Uncle Edward probably cracking a few jokes with father and the rest of the Mackie’s, sharing a CC and catching up on old times. Love you always Uncle Edward, love Little Al

Barb, I was very saddened to read of Mr. Mackie's passing. Loved working for him some 20 years. He was a great boss but also someone you thought of as a friend. Just seeing his picture here made me very sad. I hope all your memories will help you deal with such a huge loss.

It was with sadness that I heard Mr. Mackie had passed. He was my boss for many years and one of the nicest I ever had. He did so many kind things for me including giving me my job back, after I had quit that job to move away, when that move fell through and finding my boys and I a place to live again. He was one of the good guys!! My condolences to Mrs. Mackie and family on the loss of this wonderful man. May he REST IN PEACE
