Obituary of Eugene Arthurs
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eugene Arthurs, husband of the late Dorothy (Hamilton) Arthurs, on Friday, June 18, 2021, at his residence in Kennebec Manor. Born August 8, 1930, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Samuel and Emma (Bean) Arthurs.
Eugene worked at the Lantic Sugar Refinery for a number of years, then retired from Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd. Eugene enjoyed dancing, travelling, camping, and fishing.
Eugene is survived by his daughters: Marsha Adams, Gail Dicks (Brian), and Brenda Vautour (John); sons, Vernon and Jeffrey (Angela); his sister, Ruth Langlais; partner, Fabiola Pitre; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents and his wife, Dorothy, Eugene was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Cox; and his siblings: Dorine McVane, Alma Richardson, June Perkins, Malcolm Arthurs, Maxine Gauthier, and infant sister, Margaret.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. A private family graveside service will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11 am. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
