I have many fond memories of Sherman. We first met at an NB Seniors Federation conference. He was very welcoming. I learnt a lot from him regarding the history of Saint John and more. He was so kind, enjoyed volunteering and his laugh was contagious. Sherman enjoyed his annual trips to visit his nephew and family in Ontario. We spoke not long ago, he commented how thankful that Kim was in his life. It was an honour that he and Linda Nickerson attended the Canadian Red Cross Power of Humanity awards dinner two years ago.
I will smile when I think of him.

Sherman was not only my uncle, he was my friend, food tester, and ambassador of Saint John. Sherman met my friend and his lovely fiance Kim Ferron at one of my many parties. They fell in love at first sight. He cherished her and couldn't wait for the day they married. Unfortunately, life is full of surprises and tragedy and just as soon as something good and spring into your life, it can be taken away. Uncle Sherman was taken away from his beautiful fiance, friends and family too soon. He was deeply loved and will be missed by so many.
Don't cry for me,
I'm not gone.
My soul is at rest,
my heart lives on.
Light a candle
for me to see
and hold on to
my memory,
but save your tears
for I'm still here,
by your side
through the years.
Love Rae and family

Condolences to the family. Sherman was a wonderful man. Kind and generous. He had gotten my Mom a bear that played the fiddle. I commented on how much I liked it. Later on Sherman gave me one. So thoughtful.
