Obituary of Shirley Maureen Goddard

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley M. Goddard (O’Sullivan) announces her passing which occurred on August 7, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 17, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Henry J. and Elsie R. O’Sullivan (Kohlier).

Shirley had many things she enjoyed doing: TV Bingo, knitting, soap operas, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and of course her cat, Princess- and you wouldn’t dare to touch her french vanilla. She will be greatly missed by many.

Shirley is survived by her three sons: Joe, John (Karen), and Courtney (Rose) Goddard; grandchildren: Danikka Maser (Daniel), Justin Goddard, Mckenna Goddard, Krystal Goddard (Duran), Jonathan (Natasha), Chris Cormier, and Raymond Best; great-grandchildren, Kassidy Pierre, Mya Goddard, and Emma McGuire; cousins: Paul, David, Brenda, Linda, Ricky, Molly, and Florence; as well as her good friend, Elaine. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her spouse, “Butch” Eugene Blois; and her sister, Theresa O’Sullivan.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will take place from St. Mary’s and St. Bartholomew’s Church at 11 am on Friday, August 13, 2021. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
