Obituary of Sally Arlene Jansen Bartlett
It is with broken hearts that the family of Sally Arlene Jansen Bartlett, beloved wife of George Bartlett, announces her passing on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Woodland, Maine, USA, on April 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margery (Gaddis) Wahl.
Sally was a resident of Saint John, NB, for the past 63 years. She was very active in her church and served as an organist for numerous churches in the Saint John area and gave piano and voice lessons for many years. Later in life, she became a certified Human Service Councillor, working in the school system and tending to children in Foster Care. Sally also volunteered at the Loch Lomond Villa, The New Brunswick Museum, and many other volunteer organizations throughout her life. She co-founded and managed Bartlett Memorials and Granite until June 4th, 2021.
Sally is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George; sons: Byron (Wanda) Bartlett, Gregory Bartlett (Debbie), and Richard Bartlett; daughter: Susan (Dean) Lake; sister: Patsy Noddin; grandchildren: Melissa (Shane), Trevor (Corine), Amanda (John), Bradley, Sophie, Dakota, and Maeve; as well as 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), there will be visitation on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 2 PM – 4 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 1 PM in the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Sally’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, and online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
