Obituary of Joseph Koty

 

It is with deep sadness that the family of Joseph Dino “Joe” Koty announces his peaceful passing, which occurred on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Báta, Hungary on April 17, 1945, he was a son of the late Pal and Maria (Balogh) Koty.

 

In his early years, Joseph worked at Clint Regan, and later at Calp’s as a tailor. He was later employed with TriStar Mercedes for 25 years. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners Motor Corp, and an avid fisherman and hunter.

 

Joseph will be missed by his beloved wife, Kim Koty (married, July 16, 2021); his children: Joseph Koty (Tarina) and Monica Koty (Noel Mackey); stepchildren: Lisa McDonald (Jason Kingston) and Stacy Collins (Donovan MacLean); grandchildren: Carolyn, Elora, Arianna, Gage, Persephane, Haley and Mathias; Step-grandchildren: Kylie, Isaiah and Sebastian; siblings: Mihaly “Mike”, Daniel and Mary Koty; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his first wife Eva; and siblings Paul Koty and Maria Kecsekes.

 

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Masonic Lodge Tribute service will be held during visitation at 7pm. A funeral service celebrating Joseph’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel.
