Obituary of Sheila Ann Darrah
We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Ann (nee White) Darrah, on October 2nd, 2021.
Born September 3rd, 1936, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Sheila was a graduate of the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1958. In 1983, Sheila then received her Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University.
She enjoyed a long career as a dedicated nurse and social worker until her retirement from the Seniors Outreach Program at the Loch Lomond Villa. Sheila was an avid reader, adventurous world traveller, a wonderful cook, and exceptional photographer. Her warmth and many stories will be deeply missed. Sheila, and her husband Patrick, lived in the Forest Hills neighbourhood for many years, making many lifelong friendships.
She is survived by her children; Trish and Sean (Jill) Darrah; grandchildren Elizabeth, William, and Jay; and her brothers Gerry, Michael (Brenda), and Jimmy (Christine).
Sheila is predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick, infant son William, and parents William and Florence (Benjamin) White.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral mass for Sheila will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sheila’s honour to Operation Smile or the Pat Darrah Memorial Medical Education Scholarship.
