I just learned of Tony’s passing. I just want to say that my children and i loved Tony and Linda very much.
They were such kind and thoughtful people.
Sometimes at the bus stop with the kids i would stay behind to chat on many occasions. He was the watchdog of our neighbourhood. My kids always felt safe getting off the bus because Tony and Linda were always there. I am forever grateful for the kindness Tony expressed to me and my children over the years.
He was such a good man. My children and i will miss him very much and will always remember him. Things will not be same in Renforth.
My condolences to his family. ❤️ Leah, Matthew, Gracie and Samuel McLean.

To the family ofTony McGuire, your father , Uncle,Grandfather, friend, was a very special person to me personally. He was instrumental in my life by firstly being my Grade 7,8,and 9th grade teacher as well as the school guidance consoler . At the end of grade nine, he spoke with each graduating student to see what high school they wanted to attend and what their summer plans were. In my case I told him I wanted a summer job. He found me one being a mother’s helper to a wonderful family i East Riverside, with 5 young children. After being a mother’s helper for two summers, that wonderful family made me part of their family! After Highschool they put me through Nursing Schhol and I had a 43 year career that provided me with a very good life. He and his wife Linda also took me to Churchwith them every Sunday at Lady of Perpetual Help. If not for Tony’s kindness and determination to help me all those years ago I would not be the person I am today. He will always be in my heart and my deepest condolences to all who loved him. Mr. McGuire was my Grade 9 teacher at Aberdeen School at Haymarket Square. He is chiefly responsible for encouraging me to join air cadets, which changed my life for the better. I was introverted and not active in sports. He somehow had the forsight to introduce me to a youth organization that introduced me to discipline, leadership, community service, initiative, and so much more. I am grateful for him nudging me to join. I extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family and friends for their loss. My thoughts and prayers to you all during this difficult time.
Most sincerely.

Dear Lamby, Roof, and Spank (and all your family),
I was shook tonight when Mom contacted me to let me know that your wonderful Dad passed away on Monday. My heart has and will always remain in Renforth and it is your Dad (alongside your Mom and each of you) that regularly resonates in my heart and mind when I think of home. Always a rock for all of us in Renforth, your Dad was a constant presence of the time and place that holds-up the cornerstone of my heart and memory. While I was a little punk, that your Dad certainly set-straight on more than one occasion, he was also an absolute constancy of welcoming and patience with me. Your Dad was a blessing for our families, our street, our community and we are all the richer having had him as an example of a life (and true teacher) that was always willing to support others even at his own expense.
My heart is with you all and while it may seem futile at this incredibly painful time, I hope you find a sense of solace knowing that your Dad is fully at peace in the unconditional love of the Lord and, now, dutifully beside the love of his life. What a lovely gift to think about during this very real period of sorrow; your Mom and Dad, hand-in-hand, together.
Hugs for you all (and shared tears),
Jim(my) Brittain

Maggie and I are completely devastated at hearing of the death of TONY; We truly admired him as he was always a man of genuine character. In our view Tony demonstrated a true love for his community and he was one that was purely devouted to his family. On a personal note, Tony was always welcoming to me when I moved to Renforth in 1978 and always without condition very encouraging and a positive influence on my life. We will sadly miss Tony and extend to his family our deepest and most profound condolences. R.I.P Tony...You are truly our community icon!!!

Not many memories of mine don’t include a McGuire… Tony notwithstanding. It would seem as if he was the self-appointed and well-respected Recreation Director on Beauvista Street. Whether building a full on skating rink in the front yard (with dressing room seating no less), providing homemade bases for the neighborhood kids’ impromptu baseball games, building soccer nets or a quick ride in the pick up truck, backhoe bucket or The Razor… he kept us all busy through our youth. He never stopped doing things for his family or his community and his passion was evident. Tony will be missed by many, myself included. Sincere condolences to Roof, Lamb, Spank and family.
Always,
Your friend Mary O’B
