Obituary of Reginald Floyd Wainwright
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reginald F. Wainwright which occurred on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Ridgewood’s Veteran’s Wing. Born April 17, 1921, in Sussex, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Smith) Wainwright.
Reginald served in the Canadian Military from 1942-1946 in the Army Core of Engineers. He married Maria (de Mon) on May 1st, 1947, whom would be his loving wife for 73 years. He was a nice, easy going, loving, and caring person, well-liked by many people that he met. We enjoyed many of our family drives and each other’s company, Norman the driver, Mom the co-pilot with Dad and Liliana as the backseat drivers, Mom and Dad loved the rides. - We will always love you, Dad - Norman and Lilly.
Reginald is survived by his daughter, Barbara; son, Norman and his wife Liliana; grandchildren, Nicholas and Tiffany; great-grandchild Zoe. In addition to his parents, Reginald was predeceased by his loving wife, Maria (de Mon) Wainwright; his brothers, Joseph, Charles; sisters, Betty, Marjorie and Rose.
Daughter, Barbara Joan: My father (Reg) was a hardworking, caring and loving father. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. – Love You Forever, Dad.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private family graveside service will take place.
