Obituary of MaryEaster Kennedy
MaryEaster Kennedy, (McCarty), 73 of Saint John, NB, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 11th, 2021. Her kind gentle soul touched many, and her love of her family and friends was unwavering. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Jarvis Bay Legion Branch 53. She also served with the Canadian Armed Forces, with 112 Coy and later years with 31 svc Bn as an electrical engineer.
Born March 20th, 1948, she was the daughter of the Late Katherine McCarty (Peters) and Harold McCarty.
MaryEaster is survived by her children Troy, Timothy (Geatane), Selena (Issac), and Wayne (Tonia); and her 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by her brothers Edward (Belinda) and Vernon (Diana); sisters Ella Louise (Wayne) and Katherine “Rosebud” all of Saint John, NB; sister-in-law Lucy of Ottawa, and Glenna of Saint John; and several nephews and nieces.
Her warm nature and wild spirit will always be remembered. Words cannot express how much she was loved.
MaryEaster is predeceased by her husband Capt. Charles Kennedy; brother Malcolm Peters, Harold, Clarence, Victor and John McCarty; and sister Elaine Koivisto.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation for MaryEaster will be held on Sunday, October 17th from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 18th, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of a government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption.
