Obituary of Mary Speight
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Alice (Harding) (McEachern) Speight on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at her residence in Shannex Tucker Hall. Born September 7, 1928, in Lower Argyle, NS, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Hamilton) Harding.
Mary spent her career working for Sears, retiring after 27 wonderful years.
Mary is survived by five grandchildren; her brother, Russell Harding (Marge); close friend, Gladys Patzke; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, James Gilbert McEachern; second husband, Donald H. Speight; and her children, Charles M. and Cheryl M.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 11 am, from Brenan’s Chapel, followed by interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
