Obituary of Michael Richard Shea
Michael Richard Shea passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Friends and family of Michael will remember him for his sense of humour and extremely generous spirit. Michael was surrounded by some of his closest friends in his final moments.
He will be greatly missed by all those who had the opportunity to meet him, particularly his family and the staff and residents of Maple Row where he had lived for the last 10 years. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Carmel (Dempsey) Shea; father, Richard Shea; sister, Lynn Shea; as well as uncles and aunts, Jimmy, Reggie, Aurilla, Agnes and Marilyn. Michael is survived by his aunties, uncles and cousins, Sandra Straight and family, Nettie Straight and family, Lloyd Clarke and family and cousins, Reggie and Bonnie; along with many other cousins from Saint John, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Michael will also be missed by his niece and nephews, Katie, Jeremy and Chris Hilder and their children, Cody, Lori-Mae and Jessie Gulliford, Keira Trainer and Kayden, Jacob, William and Mathew Hilder.
The family would like to thank Michael’s cousins, George Touhakis and Billy and Brian Straight for their kindness and friendship. Also, a special thank you to the staff and residents of Maple Row Special Care Home for the exceptional care and friendship that was shown towards Michael over the years.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM. For those wishing to attend the service, please arrive at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) by 10:15 AM to go in procession to Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Michael may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association of NB.
