Our sincere condolences to Donna's family. We were friends in high school, members of the Centennial Year graduating class at St. Vincent's in 1967. (Beth Hatchette) Although we lost touch over the years, I was aware of Donna's illness and knew that she lived it with courage, dignity and great faith. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful obituary describing a full life well-lived. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as your precious Loved-One continues her eternal journey in the Communion of Saints.

Louise and I extend our heartfelt condolences to you David, Maryanne and Jeff and your extended families. We hope that you find comfort in the memories of the wonderful times that you shared together.

David and family, I am very sorry for the loss of such a beautiful person. Donna was a gift to the Martha Guild and I know we would have not have been so successful if not for her. Not only was she dedicated to the Martha Guild but also the CWL and entire parish. She will be sadly missed by all. May she rest in peace and my prayers will be with allof you.

Dear David and Family,
We send our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother. We were in high school together and same graduating class and I remember her lovely quiet smile and her dry wit and sparkling eyes. A genuine good gal with a generous giving spirit. We send our prayers and caring thoughts to you all. Another angel in heaven (she and Jean Burns will have a wonderful reunion).
Blessings,
Theresa (Mackin) & Jim Stoddart

My sincere condolences to David, Jeff and Mary Ann. I recall seeing your mother in City Hall where she met David, a former neighbour of mine from the West Side. Donna took David's eye immediately and smote him with her charm. Donna was up against some stiff competition when it came to trying to match her mother-in-law's cooking abilities. (I can remember how good a cook David's mother was from childhood.)
Donna was a spark of enthusiasm and a positive attitude in spite of her illness, which was a huge challenge for her to cope with as vivacious a person that she was. Donna accomplished much during her lifetime in spite of all the obstacles she faced head on. Her examples are to be a beacon for others who experience such difficulty.
I was shocked to see Donna in a wheelchair at the provincial gov't. office off Waterloo St. I wondered what the problem was, but I didn't want to embarrass her by asking her in public, knowing that some people are sensitive to their situation.
Please know that Donna is in the Palm of God's Hand and is at peace. Please be gentle with yourselves during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to Donna’s family. I was saddened when I read her name among the Cathedral Prayers of the Faithful.I had wondered how she was faring during COVID isolation. She was a great champion and sparing partner for CPF - determined, good humoured, and eyes flashing to benefit students. She was the Bible’s valiant woman- no matter how mundane the task- she lifted spirits. She was a blessing to know.

David, Jeff and Mary Ann
It is with sadness that I heard of the death of Donna. How many beautiful memories I have of her while I was Pastor at St. Pius. Despite her disability, she kept going with all the strength that came from a warm and gentle heart, which included delicious meals at her home. And the many times she prepared food when others were busy putting together our Christmas baskets.
Know that Donna will be remembered when our Prayers of the Faithful are offered this weekend at the Cathedral. I will also offer a Mass for the repose of her soul.
What a reunion in heaven, it will be, with so many who were part of the St. Pius X Martha Guild from its conception.
Blessings to each of you these days.
May Donna rest now in eternal peace and be rewarded for her generosity of spirit and unwavering faith.
With fondness and respect - Fr. Doug

I have many fond memories of my time working with Donna at Investors Group. I especially loved her dry sense of humour. Donna was an excellent administrative assistant, guarding her boss like a pit bull, but always making sure that when we really needed to see him, we could get in. A pleasure to work with. And then there are the memories after she retired, of the girls gathering on her deck. The last time I saw Donna was a meal at her house with her and Mare, and she was still smiling and still had that dry sense of humour. David, Mare and Jeff and families, please accept my sincerest condolences. Donna modeled how to live a very difficult life with dignity and faith. May she continue to inspire us all.
