Obituary of Catherine Margot (Sutton) Allen
Allen, Catherine Margot (Sutton) –
We announce her passing on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Bobby’s Hospice at the age of 82. Born in Saint John, NB and was the daughter of the late Wilmot & Jean Allen (nee Baxter).
Before moving to Montreal, she worked at McLean Kennedy & then for Stevedoring when the port was busy. Margot also attended local schools & went to Modern Business College.
She loved the camp on Johnson Road, spending many summers enjoying sunbathing & swimming with her sister, cousins & various members of the family. Her favorite pastime was going to Bingo with her aunt Maddie & her day trips down to Calais. She was an avid volunteer at the CYO, raising funds for the cathedral with her friend Sheila Levesque.
She was predeceased by her siblings Richard Allen, Bernard Allen & Susan Whalen (nee Allen). Her aunt Maddie O’Brien & cousin Ann Whitaker (nee Baxter).
She is survived by her children Samantha “Tammy” Sutton & Kingsley Sutton. Grandchildren Meghan “Dolly” Sutton, Hillary Sutton & Colten Sutton. Several nieces, nephews & cousins including her cousins Cathy O’Brien, Leigh O’Brien, Lynn Heppell & sister-in-law Joanne Allen who were all most caring.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no formal service will be held at this time. A graveside service will be arranged at a later date. Donations in Margot’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
