Obituary of Ronald Thomas Wilkins
Surrounded by his family, Ronald Thomas Wilkins passed away peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on February 8th, 2022, in his 95th year. Ronald was born on April 3rd, 1927, in Saint John, to the late Reginald and Matilda (nee Sampson) Wilkins.
Ron was a devoted, active and the longest-standing member of Main Street Baptist Church (now RiverCross Church). Ronald was known as a hardworking and loyal man as he was employed with Red Rose Tea for 40 years, and then also sold Electrolux vacuum cleaners. A very social man, Ron loved interacting with people and socializing with everyone he met. Ron and his wife Hilda loved their time at their trailer at Pirate’s Cove. He would spend his time relaxing on their swing greeting and waving to everyone who passed by. Ron also liked to spend his time golfing and bowling with his family and friends.
Ronald will be deeply missed by his children Rick (Beth) and Carol (Colombus); grandchildren Carla (Christopher), Terra (Greg), Lindsay (Josh), Ryan (Kathleen), David, and Sarah (Andrew); great-grandchildren Nuna, Hassan, Taelyn, Lyla, Felix, Tiana, Jeremiah, Denver, and Avah; siblings Douglas, Geraldine, and Patricia; sisters-in-law Norma (Dick) and Joan; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend Bea. Ronald is predeceased by his parents Reginald and Matilda, his loving wife of 55 years Hilda (nee Irwin), son Brian; brothers Albert, Chester, Reginald, Harold, and Donald; and sisters Goldie, Doreen, Myrtle, and Shirley.
The family would thank Ridgewood and Rocmaura Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion.
