Alice and family, I just received word today about Jack’s passing. I can’t tell you how sad that makes me feel. Without exaggeration, I can say Jack, was one of the finest people I ever knew. I’m sorry we never were able to make that Ireland trip together. Our two families would have certainly enjoyed that. I wish I could’ve found a way to have visited after our last phone call but when I called customs to ask about crossing the border, I was told I would not be allowed. Please send my condolences and love to all the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband, father and grandfather and a friend to everyone that was lucky enough to know Jack. Will never forget how he took us under his wing to teach us curling and dragging Maura and Jane to be our teammates. Thinking of all of you during this sad time but share the memories of Jack because there certainly are a lot of them that will bring a smile to your face.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of a wonderful man, respected man and a terrific coach. Mr. Boyle was my track and field coach all through Middle School in the sixties; he coached both Barnhill and Saint Rose and put us through our paces. I ran into him a number of years ago and we had a great catch up. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time. Darlene (Holding) Franklin

My sincere condolences to the Boyle family. I enjoyed many outings with Jack when I was a beginning curler and he was generous in providing tips and guiding my technique. I remember he always said that when I slide out to deliver I should pretend I'm shaking hands with the skip holding the broom! We shared lots of great stories and I especially remember a bonspiel up in Campbellton over 40 years ago with Jack, his son Sean and Rick Nowlan.
Rest in peace, Jack and thanks so much for the memories.

I remember Jack for a lot of things: as the greatest supporter of sports for kids, my hockey coach, my baseball coach, unofficial curling coach, and even as a tennis coach as he gave me the best tennis tip I ever received, despite my years of lessons and the fact I don't think he had ever hit a tennis ball in anger in his life. He always emphasized the importance of being part of a team and having confidence in your role, a life lesson I never forgot. Most of all I remember much later in life that, after my mother had died and I was cleaning out the family home, it was Jack who volunteered his time, pickup, and trailer to transport so many loads of, well, stuff, to the waste facility in Grand Bay. On those drives during a hard week for me we talked about sports, losing parents, family, and many other things that helped. and that is what I will appreciate most of all of the many, many things I remember him for.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Jack Boyle. Jack was a true sportsman and inspiration for many athletes, especially on the curling rinks of Saint John. Jack embodied the value of friendship and balanced his competitiveness with sportsmanship and good natured kidding to ensure everyone had a great time. For our dad, Russ, Jack was a partner in business and curling, but even more he was a true family friend! We know that Jack will be missed and that his legacy in the community will remain strong.
